Witness History...

Whichever way you slice & dice it, this super bowl marks a historical & victorius moment for all the black race... Not overplaying the race card but we should all stop for a moment and celebrate this great feat with the first black coaches taking their teams to the super bowl for the first time...

Hey, what a way to start the Black History Month.. proves we are not just capable BUT we do certainly belong..

A step forward, in the right direction.

Bro, I do not want to stop your 'feel good' moment but I do not believe that black coaches in the Super Bowl is any indication of progress.
Perhaps an opportune coincidence... but nothing short of a miracoulous turnaround of race relations in the US will ever dim the images of Katrina that are still visible in most of the south.

peace,

3n - I hear you partner, am not saying it's breakthrough, BUT can't we we for a minute stop and smell the roses and breath in and take this moment, bask a little in the spotlight even if it's just a ray...

I know I will and like I said, it's a definite step in the right direction... Focusing on the future and not losing sight of where we came from...

Bro J! What's up! Yes, this is a great moment. I'll have to agree with 3n as well. It's progress but the knife is still in our backs. I like the way Malcolm X put it: [paraphrase] "Just because you've pulled the knife halfway out of my back doesn't mean that there is progress. I need you to pull that knife all the way out of my back...then we will have progress and then the healing of that wound can begin."

Otherwise, it should be a good match up. Also, I'd like to commend you for not just looking at it as African American progress, but progress for all Africans and people of African descent. That is called thinking globally. We should all adopt that kind of thinking. Tribalism and prejudice is killing us all.
