Simply GENIUS
Hey, I called it many months ago and it has happened. Mariah's - Emancipation of MIMI has sold over 5 million copies closely edging out 50 cents. AM I surprised, NOT even a little bit. As soon as this CD came out I listened to it and was totally blown away. At the time guys tried to match her with Fantasia who had also recently released her CD. ANd also during that time it was a toss up and a close call in most books BUT not in mine.
Mariah's vocal versatility is fierce, she then decided to get an image twick and invested in some brand new double D's that are simply eye candy. See, this girl appeals to both a huge white & black audience COZ only she can. Am simply impressed by her achievements and has the most number 1 songs of all time in billboard history. For all the Haters out there, give prop's to this mama.
Now its very early in the year but am going to call another one - lookout out for the new MJB. This one has that one single that is banana's and a video to back it up. Look out boys & girls.
Life is too short NOT to say what you believe in. Simply CALL IT..

Nah man, gotta give props where props is due. Mariah's got one of the dopest voices ever. Like Mutumia said tho, she fell off after the 1st couple of albums but she's back with a vengeance, thanks in no small part to JD - one of the best producers ever, in my books anyway.
Mary J's been my girl all through; I pretty much like whatever she puts out coz she *feels* whatever she's singing about. She's definitely the queen of hip-hop soul, word.
I agree with on both Mariah & my gal MJB. Mariah's got talent esp when she discards her cheap trump/wh*re outfits & sings like the Diva she truly can be.
As for her newfound success we definitely cannot ignore the genius that is JD(Jermaine Dupri) whos is responsible for all her current hits on radio & Tv, that brother has always had the Midas touch. Props to L.A. Reid too for insisting that Mariah gets a serious image makeup to boost her career.
I've always been drawn to MJB's talent & realness. I too called her album, blogged about it & shamelessly helped market it and without flinching declared it would come out tops in 1st week sales (over 630,000 when it dropped!)
My call: MJB will have gone platinum by Valentine' Day, will tour extensively in the summer & by mid fall wil have gone 2.5 platinum.
Dr. Dre's Detox set to drop towards the end of year will kick everyone's CD off the racks & will do numbers good enough to reunite teh Good Doctor & the remaining NWA by spring of '07.

I am as much a Mariah fan as I am an MJ fan
1.its about time she won some grammy's cause she was sure robbed in 95 for Daydream
2.Sure this is not her best album but GADDAMN it sure rocks...We belong together and Joyride are really nice tracks.. i also like her nelly collabo in To the Floor
3.Personally Daydream is my all time fav album(all the songs!!!!) ...and Love takes time to heal/Cant let go/Melt away and/All in your mind...are my fav tracks
